Project: Graphic Type Posters

This was primarily a solo design project using the font of other students
Design Brief: This projects aim was to utilize a typeface created by other students, to design abstract poster layouts. Highlighting the unique attributes of each typeface, challenged us to see potential beyond headers or body copy. This was one of my favorite project and the most challenging because you are essentially working with another persons art and effort.
Process
Along with sketching out ideas, I printed out the entire alphabet of each font to get a better sense of arrangement. Most of my experimenting took place in Illustrator. I definitely learned through this project how initially sketching layouts first is beneficial, but experimenting in Illustrator can be unpredictably fun, like searching for the perfect font.
